A Message From Our Patron

The McGerty family are a hit songwriting team from Barrow in Furness, Cumbria., consisting of Dave McGerty Snr, son Dave Jnr, and daughter Tania. Dave McGerty Snr. had his first hit with his band "Chapter Five" way back in1966, with his song "You Can't Mean It". The song has become a Northern Soul Anthem over the years. It has been re-released several times both as a single on various labels, and on many Soul compilation albums. In 2010 the family started to write with the late Tony Hiller of "Brotherhood of Man" fame. Tony wrote all the bands hits such as "Save All Your Kisses for Me" and "United We Stand." Tony's influence helped to hone the McGerty's into a very successful songwriting team. 2020 saw the release of the hit CD Album ADORE, by the all girl Greek string quartet, "Fortissimo". The McGerty's were proud to write all the tracks on the album. The girls tour the world and are regulars on Greek TV and radio. In 2022 the family wrote and produced the number one hit singles, "The One That Got Away" and "Yesterday's Sunshine" for sixties star Dave Berry. We also wrote Tania's number#5 hit single "Until the World Stops Turning". Our current project is writing an album for Opera Star, and Classical Crossover singer, UK Baritone Rodney Earl Clarke. We are proud to support Rural Radio, one of the very best Radio Stations in the UK. A warm friendly station run by warm friendly people, Brian and Carol James.
